What belongs in a raw denim manufacturer RFQ?
Start with Denim weight, Sanforized or shrink plan, Fit reference, Stitch color. Add the quantity by color and size, destination country and required date.

Raw denim jeans need an explicit fabric and care plan before sampling. Raw describes the unwashed finish, while rigid describes stretch behavior and selvedge describes an edge construction. Specify each separately, including whether the material is sanforized and how dimensional change will be checked.
Select rigid denim, confirm shrinkage expectations, tune fit, lock stitching, hardware, patches and packing.

Raw denim customers often want to know how the jeans will change: how much they may shrink at the first wash, how they will fade and how to care for them. Plan this information early so it appears on the product page and care label. Measure the sample before and after a rinse to understand the change for your fabric.
Decide whether your size chart describes the jeans before or after washing, and say so clearly.
Raw programs depend more on fabric than on wash, so give fabric the most attention in the brief.
A raw denim jacket in the same fabric creates a matching set that ages together. See the selvedge vs non-selvedge and raw vs washed comparison pages for more on fabric choices.
Raw denim buyers often notice hem construction. Specify the hem stitch you want and check it on the sample.
State on product pages whether sizes are pre- or post-wash.
Keep a fabric swatch for reorders.
Approve thread color against the raw fabric.
Denim weight is often expressed in ounces per square yard, a measure of fabric mass per area. It is not the weight of a pair of jeans. The number is useful for comparing fabric proposals, but composition, weave, stretch and finishing also affect the way a garment feels and holds its shape.
Read the guide Fabric comparisonRigid denim has no intentional elastic stretch component; stretch denim is designed to extend and recover. For jeans development, the choice affects pattern ease, movement and the checks needed after washing and wear.
